Structured and Tabular Data

One of the most exciting applications of artificial intelligence is the application AI and machine learning to structured and tabular forms of data. Essentially, when working on this type of data, artificial intelligence serves as a machine for identifying patterns and relationships in data which would not be available to a human data analyst because of the scale and complexity of the data involved.

In this context, Artificial intelligence is capable of combing through troves of data to discover patterns, relationships and therefore insights that humans would not be able to discover simply on the basis of applying our own natural intelligences to a set of data. Artificial intelligence has the advantage of being able to process enormous amounts of raw data in order to make analytical discovery routine. The increasing processing power available in the world now also means that the artificial intelligence has far greater information processing power available to it than was available in the past and the level of processing power available is now rivaling the human biological availability of information processing power.
